30-Day Challenge: Day Nine

30-Day Challenge: Day Nine

The time change has thrown me off my groove. I’m tired. Every day. Note to self: next time you embark on such a challenge, ensure it doesn’t overlap a time change. Oy! This was supposed to be posted yesterday, but my wife and I went to see a movie last night and by the time I came home, I was so exhausted, this update didn’t even cross my mind.

It was a rough day. I had to stay up late working on an issue with our monitoring server (no, I won’t go into detailed geek speak here), so I was up until 1am. At around 4:30am, I awoke with an epiphany on what was happening and was up for a little bit confirming it and emailing people in prep for the morning. I was then awake and proceeded to go downstairs to do my quiet time. After this, I was too tired to continue and laid my head down on the couch to catch a snooze… which lasted a couple of hours. This, obviously, made me late to work and I was moving as if I were moving through molasses.

  • Bad and fitful sleep
  • Quiet time
  • NO stretching (just completely spaced it)
  • 30 minute walk
  • HIIT
    • Diamond push ups (still cheating these)
    • Mountain Climbers
    • Jumping Jacks
    • Reverse Lunge
    • Jumping Squats (focusing more on form than speed to protect my back)

Since I already know how Day 10 has begun, I won’t say I hope my sleep gets better… it didn’t. But, I’ll post that update tonight with a general, “How’s it going” for my first third of my challenge.
